Council Special Needs ProgramDefine a Special Needs Program that supports Scouting. Special Needs include but are not limited to:
Propose actions to the Executive Board that will help deliver the Special Needs Program across the Council Ø Define a “Special Needs Program” (Program) that supports scouting (i.e., cubs, boys, ventures, etc). Special Needs would include but not be limited to:
ü Severe Economic Limitations ü Diversity issues ü Language barriers ü Quality role models challenges ü Geographic Constraints (i.e., rural vs. urban) ü Physical and/or behavioral disabilities
Ø Propose actions to the Executive Board that will help deliver the Program across the Council
Ø Educate Scout Leaders (Leaders) regarding the Program objectives and benefits
Ø Work with leaders in identifying entities or individuals who fall within the Program Ø Provide online resources to Leaders for documenting and mainstreaming special needs
Ø Collaborate with other agencies in meeting documented needs
Ø Engage experts, as needed, to assist Leaders in evaluating, prioritizing and addressing special needs
Ø Track Program needs and accomplishments
Ø Promote public awareness of significant Program successes
